The Activity-Based Computing Project

چکیده

This position paper describes the Activity-Based Computing (ABC) project which has been ongoing in Denmark since 2003. Originally, the project took its outset in the design of a pervasive computing platform suited for the mobile, collaborative, and time-critical work of clinicians in a hospital setting. Out of this grew a conceptual framework, a set of six ABC principles, and a programming and runtime framework for the development of activity-based computing infrastructures and applications. Lately, these principles and technologies have been successfully moved to other application areas, and is now used to design and implement activitybased computing support for work in a biology laboratory and for global software development.

تعیین موعد مقرر تحویل پروژه در شبکه های پرت پویا با چندین خدمت دهنده

In this paper, multi-class dynamic PERT network is considered as a queueing network, where the projects are similar and new projects are generated according to a Poisson process. Each activity is performed independently in its corresponding service station with exponential distribution by one server from several servers settled in service station based on FCFS (Fist Come, First Served) discipli...

Real-Time Building Information Modeling (BIM) Synchronization Using Radio Frequency Identification Technology and Cloud Computing System

The online observation of a construction site and processes bears significant advantage to all business sector. BIM is the combination of a 3D model of the project and a project-planning program which improves the project planning model by up to 6D (Adding Time, Cost and Material Information dimensions to the model). RFID technology is an appropriate information synchronization tool between the...

AN EFFECTIVE METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUSLY CONSIDERING TIME-COST TRADE-OFF AND CONSTRAINT RESOURCE SCHEDULING USING NONLINEAR INTEGER FRAMEWORK

Critical Path Method (CPM) is one of the most popular techniques used by construction practitioners for construction project scheduling since the 1950s. Despite its popularity, CPM has a major shortcoming, as it is schedule based on two impractical acceptance that the project deadline is not bounded and that resources are unlimited. The analytical competency and computing capability of CPM thus...

ROBUST RESOURCE-CONSTRAINED PROJECT SCHEDULING WITH UNCERTAIN-BUT-BOUNDED ACTIVITY DURATIONS AND CASH FLOWS II. SOUNDS OF SILENCE: A NEW SAMPLING-BASED HYBRID PRIMARY-SECONDARY CRITERIA HARMONY SEARCH METAHEURISTIC

In this paper, we present a new idea for robust project scheduling combined with a cost-oriented uncertainty investigation. The result of the new approach is a makespan minimal robust proactive schedule, which is immune against the uncertainties in the activity durations and which can be evaluated from a cost-oriented point of view on the set of the uncertain-but-bounded duration and cost param...

ROBUST RESOURCE-CONSTRAINED PROJECT SCHEDULING WITH UNCERTAIN-BUT-BOUNDED ACTIVITY DURATIONS AND CASH FLOWS I. A NEW SAMPLING-BASED HYBRID PRIMARY-SECONDARY CRITERIA APPROACH

This paper, we presents a new primary-secondary-criteria scheduling model for resource-constrained project scheduling problem (RCPSP) with uncertain activity durations (UD) and cash flows (UC). The RCPSP-UD-UC approach producing a “robust” resource-feasible schedule immunized against uncertainties in the activity durations and which is on the sampling-based scenarios may be evaluated from a cos...

A Multi-Mode Resource-Constrained Optimization of Time-Cost Trade-off Problems in Project Scheduling Using a Genetic Algorithm

In this paper, we present a genetic algorithm (GA) for optimization of a multi-mode resource constrained time cost trade off (MRCTCT) problem. The proposed GA, each activity has several operational modes and each mode identifies a possible executive time and cost of the activity. Beyond earlier studies on time-cost trade-off problem, in MRCTCT problem, resource requirements of each execution mo...
